Grants and Partnerships
The Partnership for Clear Health Communication (PCHC) serves as the leading information
source regarding the scope and impact of health literacy in the United States, as
well as what providers and patients can do to improve health communication in every
provider-patient interaction. Pfizer played an important role in the creation of
the Partnership, serving as the convener and founding member of the organization.
Pfizer remains committed to ongoing support of the PCHC and its four-pronged action
agenda:
- Expanding awareness and educating patients and providers about low health literacy
- Developing and applying practical solutions to improve patient/provider communication
and motivating the health care system to adopt them
- Conducting an active advocacy program to increase support for health literacy policy
and funding
- Conducting nationally coordinated research to define the health literacy issue and
evaluate solutions
Pfizer provides an operating grant to the PCHC, and funds ongoing fulfillment of
the Ask Me 3 educational program. The PCHC is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization
driven by its Board of Directors, which represent national organizations, including
health care providers, literacy groups and consumer health organizations, among
others. To learn more or join the Partnership for Clear Health Communication, visit
